Black Swan Pics

I've been saving this as "new" on my Google reader bcos it's been a whirlwind few days (not because of partying... unfortunately) and decided it's a good page to share.

More Black Swan inspiration here. Have a listen at the hauntingly beautiful track, complete with the smashing of glass. I just don't like the feathery top from Top Shop. Looks like a crow, IMHO.

Hope I actually get to watch it...

Black Swan Posters

The movie promo posters are so classic! Check them out here. I had a hard time deciding which is my fave from the lot.

I like the way the swan and lady overlaps, and on the right looks like there's another swan. Reminds me of the old woman/young girl optical illusion, haha.

The pained look on the face kinda attracts me for some warped reason. It feels like the soul is being sucked back.

I decided on this because it looks the most classic (the text area), there is a ballet pose and the arms on fifth are paralleled by the wings on fifth.

Marc Jacobs Jumble Logo Computer Sleeve

My 13" MBP has found new clothes! Finally bought the 15" Marc by Marc Jacobs Jumble Logo Computer Sleeve in True Turquoise.

It stinks quite badly though. Gotta air it.

The Proenza Schouler Bags

I am a regular reader of Bagaholicboy, though mostly silent and merely contributing to the blog stats. I'm not like some spineless fan of his, loving everything he recommends but he has definitely introduced me to a much more expensive bags world. Hurhur.

After his recent post on the PS satchels, it reignited my lust for owning one someday. These 2 bags are currently on my super I-WANT list:

Large suede satchel. Buy it here.

Smaller version in leather. Buy it here.
I haven't exactly bought anything under Bagaholicboy's "negative" influence, except for a Balenciaga Leather Pouch from Netprice Japan. It took forever to arrive, my goodness. I love it for being so roomy but it also means I don't really want to lug it around everyday so it's just sitting in my closet now.

I'm (still) considering buying a laptop sleeve but I'm just too lazy to shop for something geeky and so not me.

Marc by Marc Jacobs (not in black though):

Cote et Ciel Diver Sleeve (colour undecided):

Online Bag Shopping

Oh dear, so ashamed of my lack of commitment (-_-;;)

I've been trolling the net for a suitable (big, nylon, cheap) bag to no avail. Any recommendation is welcomed!

But I've seen many bags that I'd consider buying. I wanted to do a list of bags from Shopbop since there is free international shipping. Unfortunately, nothing really caught my eye. I even went to the backpacks section to look for worthy stuff! -trying too hard-

I really like Vanessa Bruno's bags. A pity I haven't been able to see them IRL. It's been virtual so far. Buy it here.

Chloe! Love the wide base. Gives it such a sturdy look. Buy it here

I was contemplating if I should put this Marc by Marc Jacobs bag up after I uploaded it. I have already featured it before! I must really love it, eh? Buy it here. Prefer this colour to the blue though.

Oriental Lace Chic for Spring 2011

Having cleared some of my workload, it's time for trolling of the fashion websites. has provided the trend report for Spring 2011 and there are some looks inside that I really like.

First up, cheongsum-ish styles in different fabrics. Oriental prints and lace will definitely up the trend factor of this traditional, Mandarin collared dress. Not to forget, the figure-flattering cut would add sexiness to the mysterious East.

The power suit has taken a softer, more feminine side. Although still not appropriate for the boardroom, these styles can be adapted to prevent cries of sexual harassment in the workplace.

The peasant skirt. Shame on me. I didn't even know such skirts had a name. But, why peasant? According to the RL glossary, it is "often full and long, that features bands of embroidery. Adopted from the national costumes of European countries like Romania and Poland, peasant skirts became popular for women in the 1960s and continue to evoke a handmade, casual, carefree character." Well, there's no embroidery on this skirt but I like the shade of yellow and the fullness of it.

The colourful pants catches my attention and it feels so breezy and vibrant. Not quite for the star/bull's eye blouse though.

And this print for the top is so pretty. I think the cloth can be used to do something less traditional (Vietnamese?) and instead, an off-shoulder top or a fitted, sleeveless blouse.

Accessories for Spring 2011

Check out this search tool on for what's hot this Spring in the Accessories section. I admit, I love shoes and bags most in fashion. Okay, this is just a lazy post because I'm up to my eyebrows with deadlines. I will do better after Thursday, I promise.

Bags, one of my 2 fashion weaknesses

Okay, I have no idea when these Marc by Marc Jacobs bags are launched and which season they belong to. I was just randomly surfing on the Marc by Marc Jacobs website and these 2 bags caught my eye:

Classic Q Little Ukita in Dark Blue
and Classic Q Natasha in Black

More on Black Swan

Although still on chapter one (or two?) of The Black Swan, the promo pics of Black Swan are so beautiful. Think it'll only be released on my side of the world in 2011. Building up my shrine on the movie, saw this article on and just had to re-post it on StashioniStash.

Love this sketch:

Glam Rock Pleats

Firstly, I would like to clarify that I am a pictures and not words kinda person so if any of my comments borders on plagiarism, I'm sorry. I actually do not read any of the text and jump straight to the slideshows to look at the pics so any plagiarism is unintended.

Let's move on. I decided to check on to maintain a dedicated update on StashioniStash and lo and behold - pleats! And some with a glam rock twist! I love pleats. More so because they don't require much ironing. I'm so practical :)

From the Chloé Spring 2011 Ready-to-wear collection, I love the colours and the flow-y movement of the skirts.

Next, Haider Ackermann Spring 2011 Ready-to-wear collection. Edgy glam rock chick but the sandals remind me of Teva for some reason:

Again, love the skirt and the asymmetrical top but not the black flap down the skirt:

This dress with cape from Richard Nicoll Spring 2011 Ready-to-wear made me LOL a bit:
But as usual, love the movement of the fabric.

Lastly, 2 looks from Rue du Mail Spring 2011 Ready-to-wear collection that I'd love to wear:

After browsing through the slideshows, it seems that toga and plunging (or just unbuttoned blouses/blazers) necklines are still in for Spring 2011. BTW, nothing from the Miu Miu Spring 2011 Ready-to-wear collection caught my eye because they look kinda stiff which runs counter to what I feel pleats should be - soft, flowy and full of movement.

I heart bags!

I love the Edie Large Shoulder in Oak Sparkle Tweed.

But I'd love it more if it came in Leopard Patent below.

Now I can only lust after it while looking at my negative income account balance forlornly.

Welcome! Since I aspire to be some sorta fashionista, a tenuous link to anything Japanese is in order. All right, let me go build up the rest of the site now. Do check back soon!
